Physician · Operator · Builder
A physician
who ships.
Twenty years across the bedside, the payer, the boardroom and the terminal. Now I build AI products that turn good habits into better lives.
- 5Products shipped
- 27Books written
- 50States, telehealth
- 2×Board certified
Products
Small apps, built to be used daily.
Each one grew out of a problem I was living with. I design, build and ship them myself.

GiveMercy
A Christian community built on mercy rather than judgment: volunteering, prayer, and supporting one another's livelihoods.

PepeLingo
Language learning for pre-readers. Sentence patterns built from the words people actually use, taking a child to conversation.
Next: a GLP-1 companion
An AI-supported guide for the whole weight-loss journey on GLP-1 medication, from a physician who prescribes it.
About
Three disciplines, one practice.
I trained as a scientist, practised as a physician, operated inside payers and consultancies, and taught myself to build. The combination is the point.
01 · Medicine & science
Trained at the bench, the bedside and the scanner.
- Double board-certified: Nuclear Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. Licensed in 20+ states.
- Residency and clinical informatics fellowship at Johns Hopkins; general surgery at UF Shands; MD from Tufts.
- Developed a whole-gut motility nuclear medicine study now used by major U.S. hospitals to assess functional motility.
- Bench and clinical research across Tufts, Boston University, Cedars-Sinai and Hopkins, with recognition from SNMMI, ACNM and the JNM.
- President of the American College of Nuclear Medicine's international resident organization.
- Founder of a telehealth longevity clinic; currently Head of Operations at a physician telehealth practice serving all 50 states, in-network with the major payers.
02 · Business, economics & investing
Fluent in how healthcare is paid for.
- MBA from Johns Hopkins Carey and an MA in Economics from Tufts; triple major in biomedical engineering, biology and economics.
- McKinsey & Company, clinical analytics: medical-management and payment-integrity redesign for payers and private-equity diligence.
- Medical Director at CareFirst BCBS and at a Medicare Advantage plan; Chief Medical Officer at a health-data startup.
- Venture partner and board member across health-tech companies; advisory board, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.
- Began as a portfolio manager for a family office. Today I run my own, with systematic strategies I build and test myself.
03 · Technology
I build the thing, not the slide about the thing.
- Clinical informatics fellowship, Johns Hopkins; MIT certificate in AI and machine learning.
- Built, for employers and clients: a national care-navigation telehealth practice, multiple chronic-disease management verticals, an ML-trained medical-policy optimizer, an entire corporate venture and corporate development arm, and a blockchain-based prescription delivery system.
- Ship AI-native consumer products end to end, solo, with agentic development pipelines I designed.
- Maintainer of fable-design-system, an open-source (MIT) design system that gives AI coding agents real design taste.
Writing & open source
Twenty-some books, under other names.
I wrote them to teach what I'd had to learn the hard way. Short, practical, finishable in a day.
As Peter Oliver · Concise Reads
Business, for people who have to run one.
Twenty-plus titles, 900+ reader ratings. The management and business "success" series:
Peter Oliver on AmazonMedical education
Exam prep, written by someone who sat them.
- Nuclear Medicine, a three-book board review series as William Wallace: Bulleted Review, A Review Book, and Radiation Physics, Safety & Counting Statistics.
- MCAT & USMLE Gunner Review, as Elijah Gold, MD.
Open source
Tools I use, shared.
- fable-design-system: an MIT design system that gives AI coding agents real design taste. This site is built with it.
- uploadcheck-mcp: an MCP server that runs 40+ quality gates on a video or audio export before an agent publishes it.
Letters
Occasional notes on medicine, money and machines.
Short essays on what AI will change in medicine and what it won't. The first one is being written. Follow on LinkedIn to catch it.

The fifth decade is for big things.
I'm looking for one problem worth the next ten years. Three shapes fit:
- Build it from zero. Co-found or lead a new healthcare AI company, or a healthcare division inside a frontier AI lab.
- Scale it. Chief Medical, Growth or Operating Officer at a pre-IPO healthcare company that has found its product and now needs an operator who is also a physician.
- Turn it around. An existing healthcare business that needs a clinician who can run the P&L.
If you are a founder, a board or an investor with that problem, write to me. Partnerships and press use the same address.
